Meet Ruth M'Rav Jankelowitz

With over 30 years of experience and NCIDQ certification, Ruth M’Rav Jankelowitz leads Janks Design Group (JDG) with a reputation for creating commercial spaces that perform. Her passion lies in designing environments that do more than look good — they drive sales, enhance flow, and speak directly to the end customer.

Ruth has designed over 150 retail stores, 200 restaurants, 60 corporate offices, and a range of hospitality and medical spaces across North America. Her portfolio includes international work with brands like Nike, Timberland, Bebe, DKNY, and Polo, as well as long-term relationships with local icons like OEB, Nando’s, Tap & Barrel, and Browns Socialhouse.

Frequently Asked Questions

If you’re not sure where to start, think about your goals. Design Consults are best for quick advice without a full project commitment. Site Visits provide on-location insights. Feasibility Studies review plans and requirements in detail. Opening 101 is tailored for first-time business owners preparing to open a space.

If you don’t see an option that fits your needs, please reach out, we’ll be happy to create a custom scope for your project.

All consultations are led directly by Ruth, our principal designer. With over 30 years of experience and a deep understanding of both design and project realities, she brings the expertise needed to give you clarity and direction.

Consultation fees start at $250. The final cost depends on the service and project scope, and may range higher for more complex needs. Exact pricing will be provided during confirmation so you know what to expect before committing.

To get the most out of your session, bring along any floor plans, photos of your space, inspiration images, and a list of your key questions or goals.

We ask for at least one week’s notice for consultation requests. This allows us to prepare thoroughly and ensures you receive the best possible experience.

Payment is required within 24 hours of booking confirmation to secure your consultation. If payment is not received, the appointment will be cancelled.

In some cases, yes. If you move forward into a larger scope of work with JDG on that same project, we may apply your consultation fee as a credit. This will be discussed during your session.

You’ll walk away with clear insights and next steps. For some, that’s enough to move forward independently. For others, it becomes the starting point for a larger project with JDG.
